Overview

Six stations, all of them open

Tallai was contracted by Downer / DT Infrastructure to refurbish station buildings at Belmore, Wiley Park and Hurlstone Park, with additional works delivered across Campsie, Dulwich Hill and Punchbowl. The package covered building, civil, structural and public domain works undertaken within live rail environments and densely populated urban precincts.

The package required delivery inside operational stations, environmentally sensitive areas and close to residential communities, demanding rigorous controls around noise and vibration, heritage preservation, traffic management and environmental compliance, all while maintaining continuous rail operations.

A complex operating environment

The works were undertaken near heritage listed assets, environmentally sensitive areas and active passenger rail services. Tallai put comprehensive management strategies in place to control noise and vibration, soil and water impacts, waste and spoil, and traffic interfaces, keeping the work safe, compliant and as quiet as possible for the community.

Scope that grew with the relationship

Tallai’s working relationship with Downer / DT Infrastructure and a proactive approach to problem solving resulted in significant growth in scope across Package 5 and Package 6 stations. As delivery progressed, Tallai continued to price and deliver additional works to meet changing programme requirements.

That expanded role came to include precast platform raising, bridge bracing and trafficable anti throw screens, interim lift controls, enhanced architectural finishes, structural steel, FRP and public domain works across multiple stations.
