A new sewage treatment plant for Gilgandra, replacing a facility that has served the town for around 60 years and is close to the end of its working life.
The project represents a significant investment in Gilgandra’s essential wastewater infrastructure and will replace the town’s existing treatment plant, which has served the community for approximately 60 years and is now approaching the end of its operational life.
The new facility will provide a modern, reliable and more efficient wastewater treatment system for the Gilgandra community. Once operational, the plant is expected to treat almost 20 per cent more wastewater each day, providing additional capacity to support the future growth and development of the region.
Tallai’s scope includes the delivery of a new sewage treatment plant together with two associated sewage pumping stations and supporting network infrastructure. The works will broadly include:
A key requirement of the project will be maintaining reliable wastewater services throughout construction and commissioning. The new systems will be progressively connected and brought online before redundant infrastructure is decommissioned.
The new treatment plant will provide the capacity Gilgandra needs as the town grows, with a more efficient and more reliable system than the one it replaces.
We deliver water and wastewater treatment upgrades for councils and water authorities across Queensland and New South Wales.
